Why SUNY/Kings: I’ve always loved Brooklyn so I find it exciting to take care of and be a part of a community like this. I really connected with the hospital’s mission, and everyone I met at the program was supportive and happy to be here. I’ve also met a lot of graduates from both the EM and EM/IM programs who I really admire which made me want to follow in their footsteps.
Hometown: Calgary, AB, Canada
Medical School: University of Minnesota
Hobbies/Fun Facts: Fun fact, before I was a doctor I was a DJ and also worked in the tattoo/piercing industry! I love video games, board games, analyzing movies/shows, making workroom playlists, lifting weights, collecting tattoos, making jewelry/doing beadwork, and exploring.
Why SUNY/Kings: SUNY/Kings has everything from a vibrant community of people to diverse training opportunities. I wanted to train at a county program that will help me become the doctor I'm meant to while upholding my morals and values. I want to learn as much as I possibly can and bring that gift of knowledge to other underserved areas, and SUNY/Kings will help me do just that.
Hometown: Mansfield, TX
Medical School: Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine
Hobbies/Fun Facts: love traveling, snowboarding, cooking, trying new restaurants, finding the best happy hour deals, shopping, watching football (hook 'em horns) and basketball. Fun fact I bake sourdough and my starter Rhonda, aka Ronnie, has moved with me from Texas.
Why SUNY/Kings County: I have always wanted to train at a county program where I resonated with the mission of the program and SUNY/Kings County had everything I was looking for: an amazing location with excellent clinical training and most importantly, a supportive community of residents and faculty. I know SUNY/Kings County will challenge me to become a great physician and prepare me to be a leader in the field.
Hometown: Montreal, Qc
Medical School: New York Medical College
Hobbies/Fun Facts: My hobbies include hiking, exploring nature, running, traveling, studying Talmud, or more frequently, watching shows and anime. I love animals and wildlife, and a fun fact about me is that I can identify if a snake is safe to handle anywhere in North America. It's a surprisingly niche skill with very limited practical applications.
Why SUNY/Kings County: I was drawn to SUNY/Kings County by its legendary EM experience and accommodating environment, providing residents the opportunity to help populations in need while also gaining fantastic hands-on experience. I was especially interested in EM/IM and SUNY/Kings County is one of the unique programs offering this combined training!
